The Carmel Padres's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 11th straight loss. They took a 41-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of Soledad. While losing is never fun, Carmel can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1213th, while Soledad is ranked 582nd).
When it comes to explaining why Carmel lost, one person who can't be blamed is Savanna Radowicz. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Radowicz has scored all season. Ava Mangiapane was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Carmel's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-13. As for Soledad, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carmel will challenge Greenfield at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Soledad, they will head out on the road to challenge Monte Vista Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
