The Pittsburg Pirates's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight defeat. They took a 57-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Antioch. Pittsburg has not had much luck with Antioch recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Pittsburg lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jackie Martinez, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Malia Fonongaloa, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Pittsburg has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season. As for Antioch, the win got them back to even at 13-13.
Pittsburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Antioch, they will head out on the road to face off against Foothill at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Foothillpresents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Antioch in California (Foothill is ranked 177th, while Antioch is ranked 456th).
