The Montezuma-Cortez Panthers's and the Crested Butte Titans's matchup on Saturday was close at halftime, but the Montezuma-Cortez Panthers turned on the heat in the second half with 30 points. Montezuma-Cortez blew past Crested Butte 60-39. The victory was nothing new for Montezuma-Cortez as they're now sitting on three straight.
Savannah Haselroth continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 17 points along with six steals and five rebounds. Haselroth is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Taylor Whited was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Montezuma-Cortez's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Crested Butte, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.
Montezuma-Cortez and Kirtland Central will face off at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Kirtland Central is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Crested Butte will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Lake City at 4:30 p.m. on December 19th.
