Collins Family can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 42-7 win over Los Angeles Leadership Academy. The victory was familiar territory for Collins Family who now have three in a row.
Meanwhile, Sotomayor suffered a tough 47-22 defeat at the hands of Maywood CES on Friday. While losing is never fun, Sotomayor can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1036th, while Maywood CES is ranked 510th).
Despite the loss, Sotomayor got a solid performance out of Angie Mendoza, who scored 13 points. Sofia Vega was another key contributor, scoring three points along with four steals.
Collins Family is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Sotomayor, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-10.
