The Culver Academies Eagles will square off against the Pioneer Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Culver Academies is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.
Culver Academies not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 25th (when they won 13-3). They blew past North Judson-San Pierre 9-3.

Jak Chaney tossed a big game, striking out ten batters over 5.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off only one hit (and only one walk). Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
At the plate, Culver Academies let Jack Kaplan and Cole Meiser run wild. Kaplan went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run, while Meiser went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most hits Kaplan has posted since back in May of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Grundberg, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Culver Academies kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Pioneer faced off against Bremen on Wednesday. The Panthers lost 13-4 to the Lions. The Panthers have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Pioneer saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabe Scott, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Culver Academies has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. As for Pioneer, their loss dropped their record down to 5-16.
Pioneer's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Culver Academies has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .460. It's a different story for Pioneer, though, as they've only averaged .358. Will they be able to contain Culver Academies' hitters?
Everything went Culver Academies' way against Pioneer in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, as Culver Academies made off with an 18-8 victory. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
