The St. Francis Sharks waltzed into Tuesday's game with four straight wins but they left with five. They enjoyed a cozy 48-30 win over Scotts Valley. That's another feather in the cap for St. Francis, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
St. Francis' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nevaeh Litel led the charge by scoring 13 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Those five steals set a new season-high mark for Litel. Maya Calfee was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with seven rebounds.
St. Francis pushed their record up to 5-1 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Scotts Valley, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Francis will take on Live Oak at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Live Oak's defense has only allowed 22.4 points per game this season, so St. Francis' offense will have their work cut out for St. Francis. Scotts Valley will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Aptos at 6:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024.
