Softball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Gering's Tenth in Last 13 Outings

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against North Platte, Gering was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Chadron Cardinals by a score of 7-3. That's the fourth time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 12-4 victory last Saturday.

Brodee Luce spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on eight hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Rylee Luce was incredible, going 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Avah Escamilla also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Gering is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Chadron, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 11-10.

Coming up, Gering will square off against North Platte on Thursday. As for Chadron, they will face off against Gothenburg on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.
