Lemoore is 8-2 against Mission Oak since March of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Tigers will face off against the Hawks at 4:30 p.m. Lemoore's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Mission Oak's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
It was a proper cat-fight when Lemoore duked it out with Taft on Saturday. The Tigers blew past the Wildcats 11-1. The win was familiar territory for the Tigers, who have now won three contests in a row.
Kade Rossiter made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Keelin Shiyomura and Clinton Rhew did most of the damage at the plate: Shiyomura went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one double, while Rhew went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three runs gave Shiyomura a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Shane Chieze, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
Lemoore hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Taft struck out seven times.
Meanwhile, Mission Oak might've scored the first runs on Friday, but it was Tulare Western who claimed the real prize. The Hawks fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 7-6. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Eduardo Bravo and Braylen Vera did some serious damage despite the final result: Bravo went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double, while Vera went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Vera is becoming a predictor of Mission Oak's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is 2-1 (and 1-5 when he doesn't). Josh Renteria also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Mission Oak's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Lemoore, their record now sits at 8-3.
Lemoore couldn't quite finish off Mission Oak in their previous meeting back in May of 2025 and fell 4-2. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
