Newark Memorial has gone a perfect 3-0 against Encinal recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Cougars will welcome the Jets at 11:00 a.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Newark Memorial is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Skyline with a sharp 12-4 win. The victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Titans: they've now won three in a row.

King Lopez was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
In other pitching news, Matteo Ortiz looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
Back at the plate, Newark Memorial let Caden York and Anthony Medrano run wild. York went 2-for-3 with three runs and one RBI, while Medrano went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Marcus, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Newark Memorial always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Skyline only posted an OBP of .333.
Meanwhile, Encinal sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-9 win over Las Lomas on Thursday.
Like Newark Memorial, Encinal also got a great game from a two-way player: Zach Pippen. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Pippen was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Matan Antebi was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Evan Furuichi, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.
Newark Memorial beat Encinal 5-2 when the teams last played back in March of 2025. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Jets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
