The Dana Hills Dolphins can now show off 14 landslide victories after their most recent contest on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Mission Viejo 60-24 at home. Winning may never get old, but Dana Hills sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Leading Dana Hills to victory were Brooklyn Akason and Kayla Rice. Akason scored 13 points along with three steals, while Rice scored 19 points along with six rebounds. Rice has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Dellner, who scored two points along with ten assists and seven rebounds.
Despite the loss, Mission Viejo had strong showings from Faith Harper, who scored four points along with five rebounds and three steals, and Sofia Gozzo, who scored four points along with five assists and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Alissa Alvarez, who scored five points.
Dana Hills' victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-3. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 37.5 points. As for Mission Viejo, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost ten of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-16 record this season.
Dana Hills will head out on the road to challenge Santa Margarita at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Mission Viejo, they will be playing at home against Capistrano Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
