On Friday, things could have been worse for Belmont Charter, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 63-46 loss to Masterman. That's two games in a row now that Belmont Charter has lost by exactly 17 points.
Despite the loss, Belmont Charter still got an impressive performance from Kaylin Kent, who scored 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayanah Guyton, who scored nine points.
It was another big night for Jocelyn Goldstein, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and 19 rebounds for Masterman. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Goldstein has scored at least 25% of Masterman's points. Another player making a difference was Sophia Brunelli, who scored 17 points along with eight steals and five assists.
Belmont Charter now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Masterman, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Belmont Charter will head out on the road to face off against Olney at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Masterman, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Kensington at 3:15 p.m. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Kensington: 28.2, Masterman: 28.3) so any points scored will be well earned.
