University is 0-4 against Half Moon Bay since February of 2019 but things could change on Saturday. University will venture away from home to take on Half Moon Bay at 11:00 a.m. University will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
If University beats Half Moon Bay with 13 runs on Saturday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. University's pitchers stepped up to hand Lick-Wilmerding a 13-0 shutout on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Red Devils, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Marco Parcella made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Alexander Coleman was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Quincy Nash was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
University was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .542. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Half Moon Bay duked it out with Terra Nova on Thursday. Half Moon Bay fell just short of Terra Nova by a score of 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Cougars have suffered against the Tigers since March 18, 2017.
Half Moon Bay saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maverick Johnson, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Half Moon Bay has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. University pushed their record up to 10-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.
Half Moon Bay's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: University hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .425. It's a different story for Half Moon Bay, though, as they've only averaged .223. Will they be able to contain University's hitters?
University might still be hurting after the 11-3 defeat they got from Half Moon Bay in their previous meeting back in April of 2023. Can University avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
