Baseball Recap: Leigh Has No Trouble Against Santa Teresa

Leigh won against Santa Teresa on Wednesday with 12 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Longhorns blew past the Saints 12-3. The Longhorns might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by six runs or more this season.

Aiden Phillips and Brandon Kim did most of the damage at the plate: Phillips went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double, while Kim went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs. That's the most runs Kim has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Jeong, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Leigh always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .523. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Santa Teresa only posted an OBP of .344.

The win made it two in a row for Leigh and bumps their season record up to 18-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Santa Teresa, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season.

Leigh didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-0 win against Christopher on the 7th. As for Santa Teresa, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 16-15 victory against Westmont on the 7th.
