Sutter is a perfect 3-0 against Union Mine since March of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Huskies will host the Diamondbacks at 4:00 p.m. Sutter is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last eight games.
Sutter barely beat Destiny Christian Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Huskies blew past the Lions 8-2 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Huskies, who have now won 13 games by six runs or more so far this season.
Aiden Zwissig was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Karter Johnson, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was Cole Callison, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Sutter always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Destiny Christian Academy only posted an OBP of .241.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Union Mine). Everything went their way against El Dorado on Thursday as they made off with a 14-2 win. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Nate Gregson made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. Gregson was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with one home run, seven RBI, and two runs. Union Mine is undefeated when Gregson posts three or more hits, but 7-14 otherwise.
In other batting news, Brycen Cramer was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four runs and one RBI. He has become a key player for Union Mine: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 6-14 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker Taylor, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Sutter's win bumped their record up to 22-4. As for Union Mine, their victory bumped their record up to 10-14.
Union Mine's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Sutter hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .344. It's a different story for Union Mine, though, as they've only averaged .237. Will they be able to contain Sutter's hitters?
Sutter was able to grind out a solid win over Union Mine in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 4-0. Will the Huskies repeat their success, or do the Diamondbacks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
