Palmyra is 8-2 against Red Land since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Palmyra Cougars will head out on the road to face off against the Red Land Patriots at 4:30 p.m. Hopefully Palmyra is not getting complacent considering they own a much higher rank in Pennsylvania (they are ranked 188th, while Red Land is ranked 435th).
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 63-36, which was the final score in Palmyra's tilt against Central Dauphin on Thursday. Palmyra has struggled against Central Dauphin recently, as their match on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Red Land unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak last Friday. They fell 38-27 to Cedar Cliff.
Palmyra's defeat dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Red Land, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-9.
Palmyra was able to grind out a solid win over Red Land in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, winning 38-26. The rematch might be a little tougher for Palmyra since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
