Nuview Bridge and Temecula Prep are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but likely not for long. The Knights will welcome the Patriots at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Nuview Bridge is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.
San Jacinto Valley Academy hit Nuview Bridge with a five-run fourth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Knights came up short against the Wolves, falling 12-4.
Nuview Bridge saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Rivera, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Rivera has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Temecula Prep). They never let California Military Institute get on the board and left with a 25-0 win on Friday. Considering the Patriots have won 13 contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Ethan Fisher and Jacob Dulaney made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Fisher tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Dulaney pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, Fisher posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April. At the plate, Fisher went 1-for-3 with three runs and one RBI, while Dulaney got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs.
In other batting news, Temecula Prep got a massive performance out of Braden Litt, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI. That's the most RBI Litt has posted since back in April. Nikolaz Gonzalez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.
Temecula Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .632. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as California Military Institute only posted an OBP of .286.
The victory was the fourth in a row for Temecula Prep, bringing their record up to 18-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.5 runs over those games. As for Nuview Bridge, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Nuview Bridge has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Temecula Prep struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Nuview Bridge couldn't quite finish off Temecula Prep in their previous meeting back in March and fell 7-5. Will the Knights have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
