Softball Recap: Gretna Has No Trouble Against Chatfield

Gretna never let their opponents score on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Chatfield Chargers as they made off with a 10-0 win. Considering the Dragons have won four matches by more than seven runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Taelyn Rupiper looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Maddie Kurrus was incredible, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and one double while going 3-for-4. Emerson Boyer was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.

Gretna was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Gretna's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Chatfield, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gretna will take on Elkhorn at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Antlers have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Chatfield, they will face off against ThunderRidge at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
