The Gertz-Ressler Pumas's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. The contest between Gertz-Ressler and University Pathways Medical Magnet wasn't particularly close, with Gertz-Ressler falling 35-21.
University Pathways Medical Magnet's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mia Munguia led the charge by scoring 15 points along with four steals and two blocks. Another player making a difference was Camila Alcaraz, who scored seven points along with 28 rebounds and three blocks.
Gertz-Ressler's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-7. As for University Pathways Medical Magnet, their win bumped their record up to 6-15.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gertz-Ressler will take on Stern at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for University Pathways Medical Magnet, they will play host again and welcome University Pathways Public Service Academy, where tip off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Monday. University Pathways Public Service Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 18 points in their last eight games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
