The Chico Panthers came tearing into Tuesday's contest with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Enterprise by a score of 52-39. Given Chico's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 97th, while the Hornets are ranked 353rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Chico to victory were Aleah Cook and Josie Carlos. Cook scored eight points along with six rebounds and five steals, while Carlos scored 16 points along with four steals. Carlos has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. Another player making a difference was Olivia Murphy, who scored nine points.
Chico has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. As for Enterprise, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-13.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chico will take on the Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Red Bluff has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 5. As for Enterprise, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Vikings at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Pleasant Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Tuesday.
