Rogers (Minn.) came into Saturday's contest ranked No. 8 in Minnesota, but was stunned by
St. Michael-Albertville (Albertville, Minn.), 20-7. St. Michael-Albertville was ranked at No. 17 in the MaxPreps Freeman Rankings for Minnesota coming into the week.
The Knights led 7-0 at halftime, but the Royals recaptured the lead on a touchdown with 11:00 to go in the third. St. Michael-Albertville finally took the lead for good when
Valentino Faulkner ran for a touchdown with 3:00 remaining in the third quarter.
Each side put up seven points during the third quarter, and at the beginning of the fourth it was still a seven point game.
The loss snapped Rogers' nine-game winning streak.
Rogers' lone touchdown came on a 48-yard run by
Nate Weber in the third quarter.
SMA went into the matchup giving up only 12.4 points per game.
The loss comes after Rogers defeated Elk River 52-14 last week.
