Given Tucson High Magnet School's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while Marana is ranked 218th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Tucson High Magnet School found their leader in underclassman Patrick Flores, who scored 18 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Flores has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Xavier Grajeda Cruz, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Rincon/University can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They walked away with a 56-46 win over Sunnyside. The victory was just what Rincon/University needed coming off of a 78-57 loss in their prior game.
Tucson High Magnet School's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-1. As for Rincon/University, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 7-13.
