Rise Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Devonte Atkins, who scored 23 points along with three steals. Atkins scored a full 38.3% of Rise Academy's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trevonte Atkins, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Glen Allen's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tyson Granderson, who scored 12 points along with six steals. The match was Granderson's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Faron Friend was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with eight rebounds.
Rise Academy has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season. As for Glen Allen, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.
Rise Academy will finish 2023 at home by hosting Edison at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. Glen Allen is on the road again on Thursday and play against Manchester at 7:00 p.m. on December 28, 2023. One thing working in Manchester's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
