Baseball Recap: Bishop Union's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Bishop Union extended their winning streak to five on Tuesday, bumping their season record up to 15-4 in the process. They put the hurt on the Desert Scorpions with a sharp 16-4 win. The Broncos might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by seven runs or more this season.

Brayden Leeson and Will Kemp made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Leeson tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Kemp struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. At the plate, Leeson went 1-for-5 with two RBI and one run, while Kemp got on base in five of his six plate appearances with three runs and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mike Trejo, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs. What's more, he posted two doubles, the most he's had since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Karson Hohenstien, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

Bishop Union always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .580. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Desert only posted an OBP of .370.

As for Desert, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. They just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

On Desert's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Peyton Escobar, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Bishop Union didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 4-2 loss against California City on the 9th. As for Desert, they have also already played their next game, an 11-0 victory against Mammoth on the 9th.
