Basketball Recap: Morgan Anderson Key Part of a Team Effort in Bulldogs Win

There's no place like home for Butte Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They walked away with a 38-28 win over the Surprise Valley Hornets on Wednesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Bulldogs as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Butte Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Morgan Anderson, who went 5 of 12 en route to 14 points and three steals. That's the most steals Anderson has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kohen Thomas, who posted eight points along with seven steals and five boards.

Surprise Valley lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Isabel Juarez, who had eight points. Adelia Martinez was another key player, putting up eight points.

Butte Valley now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Surprise Valley, they dropped their record down to 3-6 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Butte Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 61-20 win against Happy Camp on the 10th. As for Surprise Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 63-29 defeat against Burney on the 10th.
