The Wylie East Raiders and the DeSoto Eagles squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Wylie East Raiders had to settle for second. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 42-20 walloping at the hands of the Eagles. Wylie East's defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.
When it comes to explaining why Wylie East lost, one person who can't be blamed is Howard Fisher iv. Despite the final result, he threw for 181 yards and a touchdown.
DeSoto's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Darius Bailey led the charge by throwing for 241 yards and three touchdowns, while also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Another player making a difference was Daylon Singleton, who picked up 194 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Wylie East's defeat dropped their record down to 10-2. As for DeSoto, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.
Wylie East does not have any more games scheduled as of now. DeSoto will be playing at home against Willis at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Willis is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
