Baseball Recap: Valley View Wins Going Away Against Lakeside

Valley View hadn't done well against Lakeside recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Eagles were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Lancers. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Lancers back in March, they had to take a 5-1 defeat.

The team relied heavily on Cameron Maciel, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Cainon Wrisley was another key player, earning one RBI and two stolen bases.

Valley View hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lakeside struck out nine times.

The victory made it two in a row for Valley View and bumps their season record up to 7-13. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for Lakeside, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 13 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season.
