Baseball Recap: Delta Triumphs

Delta's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They blew past the Florin Panthers 35-5. With that victory, the Saints brought their scoring average up to 12.2 runs per game.

Chase Parkinson and Cole Hutson did most of the damage at the plate: Parkinson went 4-for-5 with eight RBI, four runs, and two doubles, while Hutson got on base in five of his six plate appearances with three stolen bases, five runs, and four RBI. Those five runs gave Hutson a new career-high. Wyatt Griffiths was another key player, getting on base in five of his six plate appearances with five runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI.

Delta always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .796. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Delta's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Florin, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Delta wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 5-2 victory against River Islands on the 9th. As for Florin, they will be playing at home against Fairfield at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup will give the Panthers their first taste of in-conference action this season.
