The Foothill Mustangs will head out on the road to square off against the Florin Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Foothill has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
On Wednesday, Foothill didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Johnson, but they still walked away with a 48-42 win.
It was another big night for Zeniah Thompson, who scored 21 points. That makes it five consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Foothill's points. Another player making a difference was Maryssa Arnold, who scored seven points.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Florin, who are still winless after their 18th match. They were outmatched by Cordova at home and fell 52-20. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Florin has suffered against Cordova since February 5, 2020.
Foothill's win bumped their record up to 8-11. As for Florin, they dropped their record down to 0-18 with that loss, which was their eighth straight at home.
Everything came up roses for Foothill against Florin in their previous matchup on January 8th as the team secured a 56-18 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Foothill since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
