South Garland is 0-7 against Sachse since November of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The South Garland Titans will head out on the road to face off against the Sachse Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: South Garland has struggled recently with six losses in a row, while Sachse will arrive with five straight wins.
South Garland pushed their score all the way to 34 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 39-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of Naaman Forest.
Meanwhile, Sachse was not the first on the board last Thursday, but they got there more often. They claimed a resounding 57-24 win over Garland on the road. Given Sachse's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while Garland is ranked 259th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Brenden George continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 52 yards and four touchdowns, while also throwing for 200 yards and a touchdown. Sachse also got a significant boost from Brendon Haygood, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 145 yards.
Sachse's victory bumped their season record to 5-2 while South Garland's defeat dropped theirs to 2-6.
South Garland was dealt a bruising 51-12 defeat at the hands of Sachse in their previous meeting back in October of 2022. Thankfully for South Garland, Victorjesus Gutierrez (who threw for 91 yards and two touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
