The Yorktown Tigers won the last time they faced the Muncie Central Bearcats, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Yorktown really took it to Muncie Central for the full four quarters, racking up a 59-21 victory on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34-7.
Leading Yorktown to victory were Addy Barnes and Lilly Sylvester. Barnes scored 12 points along with three steals, while Sylvester scored 16 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Alexis Fields, who scored eight points.
Yorktown's victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Muncie Central, they bumped their record down to 1-12 with that loss, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Yorktown is on the road again on Saturday and play against Shelbyville at 12:30 p.m. on January 6th. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Ava Wilson and Sylvester. As for Muncie Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Lafayette Jefferson at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Lafayette Jefferson is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.
