Basketball Recap: Reagan Wentzel Key Part of Team Effort in Trojans Win

Upper Dauphin Area won the last time they faced Millersburg and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Upper Dauphin Area Trojans were the clear victor by a 61-41 margin over the Millersburg Indians. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 20 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Upper Dauphin Area to victory, but perhaps none more so than Reagan Wentzel, who posted seven points in addition to six assists and three steals. Wentzel is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Mazie Bingaman, who went 5-for-6 to rack up 12 points.

Upper Dauphin Area smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in five consecutive matches.

Despite the loss, Millersburg still got an impressive performance from Emma Miller, who dropped a double-double with 26 points and 13 rebounds. That was a full 63.4% of Millersburg's points, marking the ninth time in a row Miller has put up more than a third of the team's points. Amaya Hoffman was another key player, putting up nine points.

Upper Dauphin Area has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 13-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points over those games. As for Millersburg, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-15.

Upper Dauphin Area has already played their next contest, a 58-48 defeat against Mount Calvary Christian on the 7th. As for Millersburg, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 50-27 loss against Susquenita on the 8th.
