The Sheridan Blackhawks entered their tilt with the Rossville Hornets with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Sheridan claimed a resounding 56-19 victory over Rossville at home. Sheridan might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won five matches by 32 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Kenzie Garner, who scored 22 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Sheridan's points. Another player making a difference was Shelby Eaton, who scored 11 points along with 6 steals and 5 rebounds.
Despite the loss, Rossville saw an underclassman step up: Ava Burkle dropped a double-double on 12 points and 10 rebounds. Burkle has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times she's played.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Rossville struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Sheridan racked up 15.
Sheridan's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Rossville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sheridan will square off against Tipton at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Rossville, they will head out on the road to face off against Tri-County at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Tri-County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday.
