This season hasn't been kind to the Downtown Magnets Suns, who are still winless after their fifth game. Their rough 40-15 loss to Orthopaedic on Friday might stick with them for a while. Downtown Magnets was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Orthopaedic apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
When it comes to explaining why Downtown Magnets lost, one person who can't be blamed is Melody Kuang. Despite the final result, she scored 13 points along with 4 blocks. Kuang scored a full 86.7% of Downtown Magnets' points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Downtown Magnets has fallen quite a ways from their 11-4 record last season and are now at 0-5. As for Orthopaedic, the last time they lost on the road was back last Wednesday. Having now won five straight away games, they've pushed their record up to 1-6.
Downtown Magnets will look to defend their home court on Monday against USC-MAE at 4:00 p.m. USC-MAE has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Orthopaedic, they will head out on the road to face off against Aspire Ollin at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Aspire Ollin comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
