After flying high against the Monsignor Bonner/Archbishop Prendergast Catholic Friars/Pandas last Tuesday, the Neumann-Goretti Saints came back down to earth. Neumann-Goretti took a 60-43 bruising from the Patriots on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Neumann-Goretti has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Neumann-Goretti still got an impressive performance from Carryn Easley, who scored 22 points. Reginna Baker was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Neumann-Goretti's defeat dropped their record down to 14-4. As for Archbishop Carroll, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 11-8 record this season.
Neumann-Goretti won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Vikings at 12:00 p.m. on February 3rd. South Shore will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak. As for Archbishop Carroll, they will head out on the road to face off against the Eagles at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday. Conwell-Egan Catholic will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 151st, while the Patriots are ranked 36th).
