The Prospect Panthers will take on the MacDonald Condor at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Prospect is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.
Prospect is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 26 runs on Monday, they were much more limited against Harbor on Tuesday. They came up short against the Pirates, falling 9-2. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Pirates recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.
Jeremy Wang was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over 4.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. Wang was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one triple.
In other batting news, Alex Hand was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases. Bryce Pollace was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for MacDonald, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over Hill on Saturday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Condor considering their one-run performance the game before.
Like Prospect, MacDonald also got a great game from a two-way player: Ethan Panyanouvong. On the mound, he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Panyanouvong was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Angel Garcia was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Jacob Esteban, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
The win got MacDonald back to even at 1-1. As for Prospect, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
