Carter Killion made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was his first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Leo Garcia, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Giancarlo Diaz was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Fort Bragg always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .611. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Kelseyville hit Lower Lake with a seven-run third inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Trojans came up short against the Knights, falling 12-1. The loss continues a trend for the Trojans in their meetings with the Knights: they've now lost eight in a row.
Lower Lake saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zach Jones, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one double.
Fort Bragg's victory bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Lower Lake, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.
Lower Lake's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Fort Bragg hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .320. It's a different story for Lower Lake, though, as they've only averaged .176. Will they be able to contain Fort Bragg's hitters?
