The Union Mine Diamondbacks will be taking part in a tournament against the John Adams Academy - El Dorado Hills Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Union Mine has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
On Tuesday, Union Mine was able to grind out a solid win over Nevada Union, taking the game 64-53. The Diamondbacks pushed the score to 54-30 by the end of the third, a deficit the Miners cut but never quite recovered from.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Union Mine to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kyra Wooden, who posted 15 points and five boards. Wooden is also crushing it when it comes to blocks: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Adriana Cavallaro was another key player, going 6-for-14 to rack up 16 points and five steals.
Union Mine smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, John Adams Academy - El Dorado Hills put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 61-19 victory over Westlake Charter. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-5.
Union Mine better focus on containing Elliott Schwartz and Nadaysia Bowlin as the pair were huge in John Adams Academy - El Dorado Hills' win. Schwartz shot 46% from the field on her way to 15 points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists, while Bowlin went 8-for-12 en route to 18 points. Bowlin continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Keliah Gregg, who scored four points along with five assists and five steals.
Union Mine's record now sits at 4-2. As for John Adams Academy - El Dorado Hills, their record is now 7-0.
Everything came up roses for Union Mine against John Adams Academy - El Dorado Hills in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 65-23 win.
