The result came thanks to Shamauri Martin's shutout, as she gave up just five hits and racked up nine Ks. Those nine strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
At the plate, Wilcox County's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Maeson Owens, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Presley Kelley also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Meanwhile, Montgomery County lost 13-4 to Jenkins County last Monday.

Montgomery County's defeat dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Wilcox County, their win bumped their record up to 12-7.
