Ralston Valley extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping them down to 3-7. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Arvada West Wildcats. The loss was just more heartbreak for the Mustangs who fell 8-6 when the teams previously met back in September of 2024.
Nina Renk made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Stella Emnott, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
As for Arvada West, their record is now 10-1. They haven't had any issues with Ralston Valley recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.
On Arvada West's side, Morgan Farr spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits.
At the plate, Makinzi Gallegos was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Skarlette Arenas was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Ralston Valley wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, an 8-5 victory against Bear Creek on the 13th. As for Arvada West, they have also already played their next game, a 14-4 defeat against Lakewood on the 15th.
