Softball Recap: Midtown Has No Trouble Against Jackson

Midtown never got on the board in their matchup on Tuesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Jackson on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Jaguars with a sharp 16-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won four contests by 15 runs or more so far this season.

Katie Tedder made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Tedder was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those stolen bases were her first of the season.

In other batting news, Midtown let Samantha Goldberg and Ava Anderson run wild. Goldberg got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI, while Anderson went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases Anderson has posted since back in August of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Myla Marshall, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

Midtown always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .767. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jackson only posted an OBP of .333.

Midtown pushed their record up to 4-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Jackson, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Looking ahead, Midtown will be taking part in a tournament against Northgate at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Jackson, they will be playing at home against Drew at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
