The Gregori Jaguars will face off against the Lodi Flames at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Gregori focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Thursday.
Gregori struggled with threes on Thursday (Pitman had ten more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Gregori received a tough blow as they fell 57-38 to Pitman. Gregori was down 52-26 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Despite the loss, Gregori saw an underclassman step up: Veronica Whitten dropped a double-double on 13 points and 15 rebounds. Whitten hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for 11 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Alanah Lopez, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Lodi can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They put the hurt on Tokay with a sharp 58-33 victory. Given Lodi's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 329th, while Tokay is ranked 790th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Gregori's loss dropped their record down to 16-12. As for Lodi, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-10.
