Clear Lake took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Elmwood/Plum City, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Warriors sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 win over the Wolves on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Warriors have posted since May 1, 2025.

The team relied heavily on Hendrick Carlson, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jarric Manning, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

Clear Lake's win bumped their record up to 4-15. As for Elmwood/Plum City, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-11.
