Framingham extended their losing streak to four on Wednesday, dropping them down to 6-11. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Brookline Warriors. The Flyers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Warriors earlier this season, when they won 6-5.
Michael Chagnon put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Chagnon wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jack Maude, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.
As for Brookline, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-12. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games.
Like Framingham, Brookline also got a great game from a two-way player: Eli Hoffman. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Hoffman also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Brookline is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-11 otherwise. Hoffman was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, Connor Fitzgerald was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. He has become a key player for Brookline: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-11 otherwise.
Looking ahead, Framingham will square off against Canton at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Flyers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Brookline does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
