The Segerstrom Jaguars waltzed into their matchup Saturday with five straight wins but they left with six. They breezed by Mission Bay at home to the tune of 65-17. The result was nothing new for Segerstrom, who have now won five matchups by 20 points or more so far this season.
Stephanie Valenciano was her usual excellent self, scoring 17 points along with six steals. The game was her fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Quero, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Segerstrom's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 32.67 points. As for Mission Bay, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-7.
Segerstrom will face off against Mayfair at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Mayfair will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 736th, while Segerstrom is ranked 240th). As for Mission Bay, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bayfront Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
