The St. Pius X Sartans will square off against the Portales Rams at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. St. Pius X has given up an average of 26.6  points per game this season, but Friday's  game will give them a chance to turn things around.
On Saturday, St. Pius X came up short against Albuquerque Academy  and fell  49-36. The Sartans were up  21-6 in the first  quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

 Despite the  loss, St. Pius X got top-tier performance from   Hershul Olloway Jr, who rushed for 131 yards and three  scores while picking up 7.7 yards per carry, and also picked up 91 receiving yards and one  TD. Olloway Jr is  crushing it when it comes to  rushing yards: he's   rushed for at least 102 every time he's  taken the field this season.  Isaiah Carpenter was another key player, throwing for 315 yards and a pair of  touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Portales beat Silver 19-8  on Friday. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for the Rams.
St. Pius X better focus on containing  Slade Segovia and  Kingston Lee as the pair were huge in Portales' win. Segovia gained 161 total yards and two touchdowns, while  Lee threw for 165 yards and a pair of  TDs while completing 75% of his passes. Segovia's longest reception was for an incredible 81 yards.  Jacoby Bamforth got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
 Portales didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of  Bamforth and  Antonio Bonilla. Bamforth got in on the action too, converting a pick  into a touchdown.
 The  win was their first  at home , bumping their record up to 2-5. As for St. Pius X, their  defeat was their first of the  season and  makes their record 4-1.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of  Friday's  game:  St. Pius X has been on an offensive roll this season,  having  averaged 493  total yards per game. It's a different story for Portales, though, as  they've been averaging  only 205.1  total yards. Will St. Pius X be able to march up the field at their leisure again, or will the Rams flip the script?
 Everything came up roses for St. Pius X against Portales in their previous meeting  back in October of 2024, as the  team secured  a  48-18 victory. Will the Sartans repeat their success,  or do  the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
