The Homestead Mustangs will head out on the road to square off against the Scotts Valley Falcons at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Scotts Valley took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Homestead, who comes in off a win.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Homestead and Los Altos meet (five straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Mustangs blew past the Eagles 10-3. The Mustangs not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 28th (when they won 10-2).
Logan Christianson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Ajay Lohitsa was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Andrew Sun, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Homestead always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .550. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 13 runs the game before, Scotts Valley was a bit more limited in their game on Saturday. They lost 10-1 to Leigh.
Kaleb Wing made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. Scotts Valley is 4-1 when Wing posts two or more stolen bases, but 8-14 otherwise.
Homestead pushed their record up to 12-15 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Scotts Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 12-15.
Homestead beat Scotts Valley 3-0 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
