The Xavier Prep Saints will head out on the road to face off against the United Christian Academy Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Xavier Prep will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.
On Monday, Xavier Prep didn't have too much trouble with Palm Desert on the road as they won 47-28. Given Xavier Prep's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 41st, while Palm Desert is ranked 537th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Amoree Ferrel was her usual excellent self, scoring 25 points. That makes it five consecutive games in which Ferrel has scored at least 25% of Xavier Prep's points. Another player making a difference was Tiffany Chang, who scored six points.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought matchup, but United Christian Academy had to settle for a 45-42 loss against Chaffey on Saturday.
Xavier Prep pushed their record up to 10-0 with that win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for United Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-3.
Everything came up roses for Xavier Prep against United Christian Academy when the teams last played back in November of 2017 as the squad secured a 57-12 win. With Xavier Prep ahead 35-8 at the half, the match was all but over already.
