Softball Recap: Peach County Snags Seventh Win in Last Eight Games

Peach County came out on top against Warner Robins on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run third inning. The Trojans blew past the Demons 12-0. Considering the Trojans have won 13 matchups by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Shaniyah Gibson was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Taleyah Marable, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Peach County hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 10-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Peach County is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.4 runs over those games. As for Warner Robins, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Peach County will challenge Bainbridge at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bearcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.41 runs per game on average), something the Trojans will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Warner Robins, they will face off against Wayne County at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Yellow Jackets' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Demons' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
