Hope dropped their record down to 11-6 on Sunday, which also ended the team's six-game streak of wins. They lost 8-1 to the North Smithfield Northmen. The Blue Wave were red-hot at the plate heading into the game (they scored no less than ten runs in the three matches prior), but the Northmen's pitchers proved too tough.
As for North Smithfield, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-13. They not only won on Sunday, but they posted their biggest win since May 8th (when they won 7-0).
For North Smithfield's part, Tyler Albino spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up seven Ks. Albino has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.
At the plate, North Smithfield got a big performance out of Wyatt Pullen, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and one RBI. Those three runs gave Pullen a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nick Tremblay, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI.
