The Liberty Eagles were the 67-54 winner over the Norwood Pirates when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Liberty took a 66-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pirates on Saturday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Norwood was led to victory by Gary Williams and Peyton McDaris. Williams scored 14 points along with five rebounds and two steals, while McDaris scored 18 points along with five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Vaughan, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Liberty's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Norwood, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Liberty's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Bluejays on January 29th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Missouri (Marshfield is ranked 134th, while the Eagles are ranked 111th). As for Norwood, they will head out on the road to take on the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fordland is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
